1. Overview of RI-O

1.1 What Is RI-O?

RI-O (Righteous Index for Organization) is a standardized measurement tool designed to assess an organization’s collective state of righteousness across 7 dimensions. It is directly based on the Righteous Standards System (RSS) , which defines righteousness through 7 interdependent layers.

Unlike RI-I (individual self‑assessment) and RI-OE (employee multi‑source assessment), RI-O evaluates the organization as a whole. It aggregates data from employees, leaders, and organizational systems to provide a holistic picture of the organization’s righteous health.

RI-O answers the question: “How righteous is our organization as a whole?”

RI-O is not a judgment on individuals — it is a diagnostic tool for organizational health and cultural transformation.

1.2 Purpose and Applications

RI-O serves multiple purposes for organizations seeking to grow in righteousness:

Description: This table 1 outlines the primary applications of RI-O for organizations.

5. RI-O Scoring Methodology

5.1 Scoring Overview

RI-O uses a weighted scoring methodology to calculate a single overall score (0–100) that reflects the organization’s collective state of righteousness.

Description: This table 16 summarizes the key components of RI-O scoring.

Table 16: RI-O Scoring Overview

ComponentDescription
Data SourceAggregated RI-OE data + organizational diagnostics
Core Dimensions7 dimensions (mapped to RSS layers)
Score Range0 – 100
CalculationWeighted sum of dimension scores (averaged across all sources)
Participation RequirementMinimum 60% employee participation recommended
Version ControlSemantic versioning (v1.0, v2.0, etc.)

5.2 Dimension Weighting

This table 17 shows the consensus weights for each of the 7 RI-O dimensions. RI-O uses the same dimension weights as RI-I and RI-OE. These weights were established through a consensus process involving multiple expert sources, including the Righteous Advisory founding team, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot. The final consensus weights were reviewed and approved by the Righteous Advisory team to ensure alignment with the RSS framework.

Table 17: RI-O Dimension Weights (v1.0)

DimensionWeightRationale
Fundamentals21%The foundation of all organizational righteousness — commitment to universal principles anchors every other dimension
Foundation20%Core values and beliefs that guide all righteous action
Alignment18%Consistency between values, actions, and stakeholder relationships — integrity in motion
Structure14%Purpose, contribution, and achievement — the architectural framework for righteous action
Process11%Resilience, learning, adaptability, and perseverance — sustaining righteousness through challenges
Assurance8%Moral courage, honesty, speaking up, and accountability — the “stress‑test” dimension
Restoration8%Recovery, learning from failure, and restoring relationships — episodic but essential for long‑term growth

5.3 Score Calculation

Step 1: Calculate Dimension Raw Score (Organization Level)

Aggregate all individual dimension scores (from RI-OE data) and organizational diagnostic data to calculate the organizational average for each dimension.

Dimension Raw Score (Organization) = (Sum of all individual dimension scores + Organizational diagnostic scores) / (Number of sources)

Step 2: Calculate Dimension Weighted Score

Multiply the dimension raw score by its weight.

Dimension Weighted Score = Dimension Raw Score × Dimension Weight

Step 3: Calculate Overall RI-O Score

Sum all dimension weighted scores and convert to a 0–100 scale.

RI-O Score = (Sum of all dimension weighted scores) × 20

Figure 3: RI-O Score Calculation Flow

This flowchart 3 illustrates the step-by-step process for calculating an organization’s RI-O score from multi-source data collection to the final 0-100 score.
