Layer 3 — Alignment — defines how righteousness is aligned across:

structures

It transforms:

the axioms (Layer 1)
the foundational components and domains (Layer 2)

into alignment principles, alignment requirements, and pillar‑specific alignment rules for:

People Alignment
Institutional Alignment

Layer 3 is the bridge between principles and structure, preparing the system for Layer 4 — Structure, where all factors (core + extended) are defined.

0.1 Purpose of Layer 3

The purpose of the Alignment Layer is to:

ensure all actions and systems align with the axioms
ensure foundational components and domains are applied consistently
define alignment requirements for people and institutions
prevent misalignment between values, intent, and behavior
unify the People Pillar and Institutional Pillar
prepare the system for structural implementation in Layer 4

0.2 Relationship to the Seven‑Layer Architecture

Layer 3 sits between:

Layer 2 — Foundation
Layer 4 — Structure

It ensures the foundation is correctly applied before structure is built.

This standard applies to:

It defines the alignment requirements necessary for righteousness to function consistently across all domains.

3. Terms and Definitions

Definitions in this standard take precedence over definitions in any other RSS standard.

4. Structure of This Standard

This standard contains four normative components:

RSS 37003‑3.4 — Institutional Alignment

No factors appear in this layer. All factors (core + extended) appear in Layer 4 — Structure.

5. RSS 37003‑3.1 — Alignment Principles

These principles define how righteousness must be aligned across people and institutions.

Principle 1 — Consistency with Axioms

All actions, decisions, and systems must align with the axioms defined in RSS 37001‑1.1.

Principle 2 — Coherence Across Domains

Alignment must be maintained across all foundational domains defined in RSS 37002‑2.2.

Principle 3 — Integrity of Intent and Action

Intent and action must be aligned. Misalignment between stated values and actual behavior is a violation of righteousness.

Principle 4 — Mutual Alignment Between People and Institutions

People and institutions must align with each other. A righteous institution cannot exist without righteous people, and righteous people cannot function within unrighteous systems.

Principle 5 — Alignment Through Transparency

Transparency ensures that alignment can be observed, verified, and maintained.

6. RSS 37003‑3.2 — Alignment Requirements

These requirements define how alignment must be implemented and maintained.

Requirement 1 — Value Alignment

People and institutions shall align their values with the core virtues defined in Axiom 2.

Requirement 2 — Behavioral Alignment

Actions shall reflect:

internal moral intent
foundational components
domain responsibilities

Behavioral misalignment must be corrected immediately.

Requirement 3 — Structural Alignment

Institutional structures, policies, and processes shall align with:

foundational domains
alignment principles
righteous intent

This requirement prepares the system for Layer 4 — Structure.

Requirement 4 — Relational Alignment

Relationships between individuals and institutions shall be aligned with:

fairness
justice
respect
responsibility

This requirement supports Axiom 3.

Requirement 5 — Corrective Alignment

When misalignment occurs, entities shall:

reflect
admit fault
correct behavior

This requirement directly supports Axiom 4.

7. RSS 37003‑3.3 — People Alignment

People Alignment defines how individuals align their:

intent
values
behavior
roles
responsibilities

with the foundational components and domains.

7.1 Alignment of Personal Intent

Individuals shall align their internal motivations with the moral intent defined in Layer 2.

7.2 Alignment of Personal Behavior

Behavior must reflect the foundational components and domains.

7.3 Alignment of Universal Roles

Individuals shall align their conduct within universal roles such as:

parent
spouse
employee
supervisor
community member

These roles will be structurally defined in Layer 4A.2.

7.4 Alignment of Domain‑Specific Roles

Individuals shall align their conduct within domain‑specific roles such as:

police officer
insurance agent
teacher
doctor

These roles will be structurally defined in Layer 4A.3.

Institutional Alignment defines how organizations align their:

structures
